The writer's last apartment: the study with a clock stopped at the hour of his death, the nursery and the drawing room.

Dostoevsky lived here from October 1878 until his death on 28 January 1881, and wrote The Brothers Karamazov and his Pushkin speech here.
The writer had first briefly lived in this house back in 1846.
The museum opened on 11 November 1971, on the 150th anniversary of Dostoevsky's birth.
The study is recreated from a photograph by Woldemar Taube, taken right after the writer's death in 1881.
The clock in the study belonged to the writer's younger brother Andrey Dostoevsky.
The one authentic item in the hallway is Dostoevsky's felt hat.
The exhibition is based on the collection of the writer's grandson, Andrey Fyodorovich Dostoevsky.
