🖼 Moscow Transport Museum in the Melnikov Garage

Opened in September 2026 in the restored Melnikov Garage on Novoryazanskaya (Shukhov may have been involved in the design of the metal trusses): an 1872 horse tram, metro cars, buses and trolleybuses, 27 simulators.

The garage on Novoryazanskaya is Konstantin Melnikov's second garage, on which he began work in 1926.
The horseshoe shape was dictated by the triangular plot, not just by the architect's concept.
The 54 roof trusses rest only on the outer walls, so there is not a single support inside the hall.
Before the museum, a taxi depot, a car repair plant and a bus depot worked here, until 2015.
Exhibits include a metro car from Berlin and the MatrEshka driverless bus.
The museum traces its history to the Retro Car Museum on Rogozhsky Val, opened in 2003.
