      🖼 Lenin's Hut Museum

Санкт-Петербург, Сестрорецк, пос. Тарховка, Дорога к Шалашу Ленина, 3А

A memorial complex on the Razliv shore where Lenin hid in summer 1917: a pavilion with an exhibition, a granite "hut" monument and a replica of the hut.

      • Lenin and Zinoviev moved here on the night of 9–10 July 1917, disguised as haymakers, sheltered by the worker Nikolai Yemelyanov.
      • The granite "hut" by the architect Alexander Gegello was unveiled on 15 July 1928.
      • The inscription on the granite says that Lenin wrote the book The State and Revolution here.
      • After the trials of 1936 Zinoviev stopped being mentioned: in the film The Great Glow (1938) Lenin is already alone in the hut.
      • The museum pavilion of granite, marble and glass was built in 1964 to a design by V. D. Kirkhoglani.
      • On 8 August 1917 Lenin left from here for Dibuny station and went to Petrograd, and from there by locomotive to Finland.
