        • The dunes on the Sestroretsk shore began to form more than 5,000 years ago, as the Littorina Sea retreated.
        • The beach lies at the mouth of the northern arm of the Malaya Sestra river.
        • Until 1940 this shore belonged to Finland, and the area received the name "Dyuny" in 1948.
        • In 1986 two old granite border posts with crosses were dug up here; in 2014 they were moved to the Sestroretsk Frontier museum.
        • From the 1960s until the mid-2010s the Dunes were known as a nudist beach.

        • Peter I first stopped in this oak grove on 20 September 1714, returning from the victory at Gangut.
        • In 1717 2,000 trees were planted here, 200 of them by Peter himself.
        • The stone palace, designed by Steven van Zwieten, was handed over in summer 1724; Peter visited for the last time on 2 November 1724.
        • In 1727, under Peter II, the estate lost its status as a residence, and the palace interiors were taken apart and removed.
        • The ramparts in the park were raised during the Russo-Swedish war of 1741–1743 in case of a Swedish landing.
        • The 60.5-hectare park is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Historic Centre of Saint Petersburg".

        • Peter I chose the site of the dam in 1720, planting a flag there; it was built by the "dam master" Wenedikt Beer.
        • The dam was completed in 1723, damming the Sestra and Chernaya rivers for the arms factory.
        • The reservoir covers 10.6 km², and its average depth is only 1.6 metres.
        • In 1873 the water level was raised by 60 inches for new turbines, flooding Razlivnaya Street — 272 houses.
        • In 1934 the reservoir dried up completely.

        • Lenin and Zinoviev moved here on the night of 9–10 July 1917, disguised as haymakers, sheltered by the worker Nikolai Yemelyanov.
        • The granite "hut" by the architect Alexander Gegello was unveiled on 15 July 1928.
        • The inscription on the granite says that Lenin wrote the book The State and Revolution here.
        • After the trials of 1936 Zinoviev stopped being mentioned: in the film The Great Glow (1938) Lenin is already alone in the hut.
        • The museum pavilion of granite, marble and glass was built in 1964 to a design by V. D. Kirkhoglani.
        • On 8 August 1917 Lenin left from here for Dibuny station and went to Petrograd, and from there by locomotive to Finland.
