🌳 Neva Garden and the Okhtenka Monument

      Среднеохтинский пр. / шоссе Революции

A 1970 square with the bronze "Okhtenka" — a monument to an Ingrian milkmaid — and sculptures from the 2013 symposium.

      • On an 1858 plan this plot is called the Kushelev-Bezborodko Garden.
      • The "Okhtenka" was unveiled on 6 June 2003; the authors are V. Sveshnikov, Ya. Neiman and S. Korolenko.
      • The 2.5-metre bronze milkmaid illustrates a line from "Onegin": "With a jug the Okhta girl hurries by".
      • The garden covers 11.19 hectares.
      • In 2003–2007 the Orlovsky shopping centre grew right up against the "Okhtenka" and took part of the garden.
