        • It is the largest necropolis within the limits of St Petersburg.
        • The cemetery opened on 16 May 1773; it was long called St George's after the Church of St George the Victorious.
        • St Nicholas Church was laid down in 1812 with money from the merchant Nikonov and dedicated to the patron of sailors and shipbuilders.
        • St Nicholas Church is the cemetery's only surviving church and was never closed.
        • The five-domed Eliseyev family burial church (1881–1885) was demolished in 1929.
        • In 1983–1984 Energetikov Avenue cut the cemetery in two.

        🚶 "Parisian Courtyard" in Okhta
        ул. Молдагуловой, 3 (двор)
The courtyard's blank end walls are painted in the Impressionist spirit: the Eiffel Tower, a balloon, Parisian lanes and cats.

        • The courtyard was painted by local artists tired of boring blank walls.
        • According to local legend, a couple who kiss for the first time in this courtyard are in for a long and happy love.
        • Until 1980 Moldagulovoy Street was called Gurdina, after a house owner; it was laid out in 1828.

        • On an 1858 plan this plot is called the Kushelev-Bezborodko Garden.
        • The "Okhtenka" was unveiled on 6 June 2003; the authors are V. Sveshnikov, Ya. Neiman and S. Korolenko.
        • The 2.5-metre bronze milkmaid illustrates a line from "Onegin": "With a jug the Okhta girl hurries by".
        • The garden covers 11.19 hectares.
        • In 2003–2007 the Orlovsky shopping centre grew right up against the "Okhtenka" and took part of the garden.
