      🏛 Krasnenkoye Cemetery

      • The cemetery was founded in 1776 (other sources say 1757) and covers about 30 hectares.
      • The mass grave holds 152 victims of the flood of 7 November 1824 — mostly workers of the iron foundry.
      • The Kazan Church of 1901 burned down before the war; the present one, built of foam concrete, was consecrated in 2001.
      • More than a hundred soldiers of penal companies and battalions of the Leningrad Front, killed in 1942–1943, are buried here.
      • In 1961 the artists Arefyev and Shagin lived at the cemetery for several months, sleeping in the crypts.
