      • The theatre's scenery storage building was built in 1900 to a design by Viktor Schröter.
      • In September 2003 a fire gutted it from inside — only the foundation and façade survived.
      • The new hall was designed by the Frenchman Xavier Fabre, with acoustics by the Japanese firm Nagata Acoustics, which also worked on Disney Hall in Los Angeles.
      • The hall was unveiled on 29 November 2006; it has 1,110 seats, including a choir tier for 120.
      • The organ by the French firm Daniel Kern was first heard at a concert on 1 October 2009.
      • On 15 April 2010 the world's first live 3D television broadcast of a ballet was transmitted from here.
      • The hall is often called "Mariinsky-3".
