        • From 1796 the Capella was led by the composer Dmitry Bortniansky, later by Balakirev and Arensky.
        • The building at Moika 20 was rebuilt in 1886–1889 to a design by Leontiy Benois.
        • Among the Capella's teachers were Mikhail Glinka and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

        • The museum holds the waistcoat Pushkin wore at the duel and his death mask by the sculptor Samuil Halberg.
        • The first museum in the apartment opened on 13 February 1927.

        • The Mikhailovsky Palace was built in 1819–1825 for Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich, the youngest son of Paul I.
        • Paul I ordered money to be set aside each year for a palace for his youngest son, "so that my son could live like a tsar", but did not live to see it built.
