      Semyonov's town museum: the history of the Old Believer region and local crafts.

      • Semyonov arose in the early 17th century as an Old Believer settlement and was first mentioned in 1644.
      • It became a town in 1779, a district center of the Nizhny Novgorod Viceroyalty.
      • In the 18th–19th centuries Semyonov was a center of Old Belief: people hid from persecution in the forests beyond the Volga.
