      ул. Стрелка, 3А

A huge cathedral on the Strelka, built with the money of the fair's merchants — you can see it from anywhere above the Oka.

      • The cathedral was built in 1868–1881 to a design by the architect Lev Dal.
      • The fair's merchants decided to build the church in memory of Alexander II's visit to the fair.
      • Over ten years 454,667 rubles in donations were collected for the construction.
      • In the late 1930s the cathedral began to be dismantled: a giant monument-lighthouse was planned in its place.
      • Since 2009 it has been the cathedral of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese.
