        • The building was built in 1910–1912 to a design by the engineer Leonid Novikov and the architect Oskar Munts with the participation of Leonid Vesnin.
        • The post office was ceremonially opened on 14 May 1912; the first Museum of Postal Communication began working in it at the same time.
        • The facade was to be clad in striped brick "in the Byzantine style", but brick got more expensive, so artificial stone imitating marble was used.
        • The glass dome of the main hall is often attributed to Shukhov, but that is an urban legend.
        • The post office stands on the site of an estate once owned by Alexander Menshikov.
        • In 1913 about 12% of all the country's correspondence passed through the Moscow Post Office.
        • In October 1917 there was fighting at the post office between cadets and Red Guards.

        • The church was built in 1704–1707 to a design by Ivan Zarudny in the Naryshkin Baroque style.
        • At 84 meters the tower exceeded the Ivan the Great Bell Tower by 3 meters and became Moscow's tallest building.
        • The occasion was an icon of the Mother of God from Polotsk, believed to have been painted by the Evangelist Luke.
        • Menshikov also ordered the Poganye Ponds by the church cleaned up, and ever since they have been the Chistye (Clean) Ponds.
        • In 1708 an English clock with chimes was installed on the tower and 50 bells were hung.
        • In 1773 the church was restored by the Freemason Gavriil Izmailov, and Masonic symbols and inscriptions appeared on the walls.
        • Since 1948 the church has belonged to the Representation of the Antiochian Orthodox Church.

        • According to a popular version, the pond was called Pogany (Foul) because of butchers' waste, and in 1703 it was cleaned on Menshikov's orders.
        • Of several ponds, only one has survived to this day.
        • Nearby stands the Menshikov Tower of 1704–1707 by architect Ivan Zarudny; its top burned down after a lightning strike in 1723.
        • The monument to Griboyedov at the start of the boulevard was erected in 1959.
        • Since 1974 the Sovremennik Theatre has been housed in the building of the former Colosseum cinema of 1914.
        • The Annushka tram, route A, runs along the boulevard; in summer swans live on the pond.

        • From 1697 the chambers belonged to the duma clerk and diplomat Yemelyan Ukraintsev.
        • After Poltava, Peter I granted the chambers to Prince Mikhail Golitsyn.
        • From 1770 the Moscow Main Archive of the College of Foreign Affairs was kept here.
        • At the Jurgenson music press attached to the chambers, almost all of Tchaikovsky's works were first printed.
        • The Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Khokhly was built in 1696.
        • On the corner with Kolpachny Lane the steep left bank of the little Rachka river has survived.

        • The first wooden church was ordered by Vasily III in 1519 at the place where the Vladimir Icon was seen off back to Vladimir.
        • The present church was consecrated in 1751 and has not been seriously rebuilt since.
        • The author is not known for certain: besides Ukhtomsky, Alexei Yevlashev and Karl Blank are named.
        • The parishioners decided to build a new church when their neighbors on Novaya Basmannaya got the Baroque Church of Sts Peter and Paul.
        • In the fire of 1812 neither the church nor the neighboring houses suffered.
        • In January 2025 Patriarch Kirill made the church the main church of the Investigative Committee.

        • In the late 18th century Prince Mikhail Golitsyn opened his estate garden to everyone: Muscovites were "allowed to walk in it freely".
        • The park officially opened in spring 1920 as the "1st of May Garden", and it has borne Bauman's name since 1922.
        • The garden still has the artificial Belvedere grotto of the 18th century; in Soviet times there was a café in it.
        • On the garden's stage, built in the 1920s–1930s, Leonid Utesov and Klavdiya Shulzhenko performed.
        • A bust of Bauman by Vladlen Odinokov was put up in 1972 and moved in 1992.
        • The 2012 reconstruction was done by the Wowhaus bureau.

        • The mansion was built in 1803 on the base of mid-18th-century textile manufactories.
        • In 1815–1826 Senator Ivan Muravyov-Apostol lived here; three of his sons, Sergei, Matvei and Ippolit, took part in the Decembrist uprising.
        • The house survived the fire of 1812, a rare pre-fire mansion for Moscow.
        • The restoration since the 2000s was started by a descendant of the family, Christopher Muravyov-Apostol, who came from Brazil.
        • The walls were painted with English paint on mineral pigments, and the stoves in the house are real and working.
        • The first Decembrists Museum opened here in 1986, but closed by 1991 because of the building's dilapidated state.
        • The exhibition includes letters of Sergei Muravyov-Apostol written before his execution.

        • In 1799 Alexander Pushkin was baptised here, in the earlier church; a plaque of 1991 at the entrance recalls this.
        • The current cathedral was built from 1835 to 1845, designed by Yevgraf Tyurin; its domed rotunda echoes St Peter's in Rome.
        • The wooden Epiphany church in the village of Yelokhovo is first mentioned in 1694.
        • From 1938 to 1991 the church was the Patriarchal cathedral; enthronements of patriarchs took place here in 1943, 1945, 1971 and 1990.
        • Patriarchs Sergius and Alexy II are buried in the cathedral; Sergius's tombstone of 1949 was Alexei Shchusev's last work.
