      A working convent in the lanes of Ostozhenka: white walls, a 17th-century gate church and a new cathedral built on the site of the demolished one.

      • The convent was founded in the 14th century under Metropolitan Alexei.
      • The 1696 gate Church of the Saviour Not Made by Hands is the only monastery building that survived the Soviet period.
      • The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin was demolished in 1934; a new one was consecrated in 2010.
