      • In 1584 Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich gave Vyazemy to his brother-in-law Boris Godunov, who surrounded the estate with a wooden wall with five towers.
      • In the Time of Troubles Vyazemy became False Dmitry I's country palace, and in 1606 Marina Mniszech stayed here for several days.
      • In 1694 Peter I granted Vyazemy to his tutor Prince Boris Golitsyn.
      • The outbuildings were finished in 1772 and the palace itself in 1784, under Prince Nikolay Mikhailovich Golitsyn.
      • The man of letters Stepan Shevyryov sorted the huge estate library, and Gogol visited him here in 1849.
      • According to legend, it was here, at a ball, that Pushkin first saw Natalya Goncharova.
      • From 1908 the last owner, Prince Dmitry Golitsyn, built a dacha settlement next door, the present town of Golitsyno.
