The late 19th-century mansion of the Maraev merchants with a collection of Western European and Russian paintings, icons and graphic art.

Factory owner Anna Maraeva's mansion was built in 1896 to a design by Roman Klein, the architect of the Museum of Fine Arts on Volkhonka.
The museum was founded in 1918, and its core was the Maraev collection, brought in 1919 from a country house in the village of Danki.
The collection was based on 377 paintings and graphic works by European and Russian masters that Maraeva bought from the official Yuri Merlin.
In the 1920s the holdings were expanded with items from nearby estates: Raysemenovskoye, Semyonovskaya Otrada, Telyatyevo and Ostafyevo.
Some Western European artists are represented in Russia only by works from the Serpukhov collection.
Next door stands an Old Believer Intercession Church of the early 20th century by Mikhail Piotrovich, a church without an altar.
