      🏛 Intercession-Vasilyevsky Monastery (Pokrovsko-Vasilyevsky Monastery)

      • The two-storey church above the graves of Vasily Gryaznov and his wife was built by the factory owner Yakov Labzin and consecrated in 1874.
      • In 1885 Labzin set up a women's almshouse at the church, which was turned into a community in 1894, where up to 150 sisters lived in the early 20th century.
      • Services were held until 1932, after which warehouses and garages were set up in the church.
      • The church reopened in 1989 and was converted into a men's monastery on 23 June 1995.
      • On 7 August 1999 Vasily Gryaznov was glorified as a locally venerated saint; his relics lie in the upper Intercession Church.
      • In 2002 more than 100 particles of relics of the saints of the Kyiv Caves were brought to the monastery.
