        • The first Pavlovo Posad wool shawls with a printed pattern were produced in the early 1860s by Yakov Labzin and Vasily Gryaznov.
        • Until the 1970s the pattern was printed with carved wooden blocks, “manners” and “flowers”: up to 400 impressions were needed for one shawl.
        • Since the 1970s the dye has been applied through silk and nylon mesh stencils, which made it possible to increase the number of colours.
        • After the revolution the factory was renamed Staropavlovskaya, and in 1937 its shawls were shown at the World Exhibition in Paris.
