      🌳 Otrada Park (Likhoborka valley)

Отрадное, Алтуфьевское ш. (долина реки Лихоборки)

The green Likhoborka valley in Otradnoye — a park landscaped in 2005–2006: paths, gazebos and wooden bridges over a small river.

      • The Likhoborka is the longest of Moscow's small rivers: 30.2 km, more than half of it hidden in an underground collector.
      • The name, by one version, is linked to "likhoy bor" (wild pine forest) — a forest by the Dmitrov road where robbers hid.
      • The landscaped stretch of the valley in Otradnoye — Otrada Park — was laid out in 2005–2006, with plank decks, bridges and paths of cobblestones.
      • In April 2017 remains of structures that may belong to the Moscow fortified area were found on the Likhoborka bank by Otrada Park.
      • Volga water from the Khimki Reservoir is discharged through the Likhoborka into the Yauza — the river is part of the water-supply system.
