        • The garden was founded on 14 April 1945 for the 220th anniversary of the Academy of Sciences; its first director was the breeder Nikolay Tsitsin.
        • The garden's living collections include more than 16,000 species, forms and varieties of plants.
        • The arboretum covers 75 hectares: plants of one genus are planted in it as a single stand.
        • The Japanese Garden was created by the master Ken Nakajima; negotiations about it began in 1978, and in May the cherry blossoms here for about a week.
        • The core of the tropical plant collection of the Collection Greenhouse was brought in 1947 from the Sanssouci greenhouse in Potsdam.
        • The garden preserves fragments of the Ostankino oak grove and Leonovo forest, mentioned in chronicles as early as 1584.
        • In 2014 the garden was merged with VDNKh and Ostankino Park, and the dividing fence was removed.

        • The first Nativity of the Mother of God church was built here around 1627 under Prince Ivan Shuisky, when the village was still called Velyaminovo.
        • The village got the name Vladykino in 1653, becoming the estate of the patriarch — the "vladyka".
        • The present five-domed church is a 1854–1858 rebuilding by the architect A. F. Yaroshevsky; it was consecrated in 1860 by Metropolitan Philaret.
        • The bell tower of the first stone church of 1770 was built by Count Kirill Razumovsky, owner of neighboring Petrovskoye.
        • In the 1970s the church was due to be demolished for an overpass at the start of Altufyevskoye Highway, but parishioners defended it.
        • The church's oldest icon is an image of St Nicholas the Wonderworker with 16 scenes of his life, from the late 16th — early 17th century.
        • The parents and sisters of the actress Maria Yermolova, whose family spent summers at a dacha here from 1869, are buried in the cemetery by the church.

        • The Likhoborka is the longest of Moscow's small rivers: 30.2 km, more than half of it hidden in an underground collector.
        • The name, by one version, is linked to "likhoy bor" (wild pine forest) — a forest by the Dmitrov road where robbers hid.
        • The landscaped stretch of the valley in Otradnoye — Otrada Park — was laid out in 2005–2006, with plank decks, bridges and paths of cobblestones.
        • In April 2017 remains of structures that may belong to the Moscow fortified area were found on the Likhoborka bank by Otrada Park.
        • Volga water from the Khimki Reservoir is discharged through the Likhoborka into the Yauza — the river is part of the water-supply system.

        • The Orthodox church of St Nicholas the Wonderworker was founded on 8 September 1997; next to it stands the chapel of the healer Panteleimon.
        • On the other bank of the Likhoborka a Buddhist part appeared: the Pagoda of Paradise with a prayer drum opened in 2015, and the Stupa of Enlightenment in 2017.
        • The complex is unofficially called "Little Jerusalem", and the nearest bus stop is called "New Jerusalem".
