      🌳 Bitsevsky Forest eco center

      Новоясеневский тупик, 1, стр. 3

An environmental education center with animal enclosures and a mini-farm at the edge of the nature park.

      • Bitsevsky Forest is Moscow's second-largest park after Losiny Ostrov: 2,208.4 hectares and 10 km from north to south.
      • In May 1992 Moscow's first nature park was created here.
      • In the 1980s the Moscow Zoo was to be moved here — an eastern vestibule was built for it at Bitsevsky Park station (now Novoyasenevskaya).
      • In 1974 the famous "Bulldozer Exhibition" of unofficial artists took place at the forest's edge in Belyayevo.
      • 648 species of vascular plants have been recorded here, and the oldest oak groves are 180–190 years old.
      • Bitsevsky Forest is home to the werewolf fox, heroine of Viktor Pelevin's novel "The Sacred Book of the Werewolf".
