      🌳 Lake Bezdonnoe (Bottomless Lake)

A small lake in the pine forest of Serebryany Bor: a former oxbow that was enlarged in the 1950s and connected to the Moskva River, so it is now a bay of the river.

      • Despite its name, the lake is about 3 m deep.
      • It used to be a small oxbow lake among marshes; in the 1950s it was joined to the Moskva River, and it is now a bay.
      • The water body covers 16–17 hectares: two reaches linked by channels, the main one 11 hectares.
      • According to legends, springs gush on the bottom and treasure and old silver mines are hidden there, but there is no documentary evidence for this.
      • The eco-trail By Lake Bezdonnoe, about 1,300 m long, opened in 2007.
