      • The theater opened on 8 June 1818 in the presence of Alexander I and the Prussian king Frederick William III.
      • Pietro Gonzaga himself never came to Arkhangelskoye: he painted the twelve scene changes in a workshop at the Hermitage Theater.
      • The hall seats only 250; Yusupov's troupe featured serf ballerinas, singers and musicians.
      • The original 6 × 8 m curtain and four scene changes survive, the only authentic Gonzaga originals.
      • In 1969 a "performance of scenery" was staged here: four Gonzaga sets were shown to the music of Rossini.
      • The building is wooden, but plastered and painted golden; the staircase on the south facade was added in 1828.
