        • The church was built in 1660–1667 on the site of a wooden one and is the oldest building of the estate.
        • The probable architect is Pavel Potekhin, a serf master of Prince Odoevsky, who built a similar church in Nikolskoye-Uryupino.
        • The layout is unusual: the side chapels adjoin the church diagonally, and the vaults rest on only two pillars.
        • Under the Yusupovs the church was remodeled in Neoclassical style, and restorers brought back its rows of kokoshniks in 1964–1965.
        • The Holy Gates with two turrets in a fence of stone and pebbles were put up in 1826.
        • Princess Tatiana Yusupova (1868–1888) is buried by the south wall; Antokolsky's "Angel of Prayer" from her tombstone was moved to the Tea House in 1936.

        • The mausoleum was built in 1909–1916 to a design by Roman Klein with the participation of Grigory Barkhin and Alexei Chichagov.
        • It was begun after the death in a duel in 1908 of 25-year-old Prince Nikolai Yusupov, the elder brother of Felix Yusupov.
        • Nikolai Yusupov's body was never moved to the Colonnade: he remained in the grave by the Church of the Archangel Michael.
        • The interiors were decorated by the artist Ignaty Nivinsky, who in those same years restored the palace murals.
        • The Colonnade, together with the palace, is shown on a Bank of Russia silver coin of 2009.

        • The palace design was commissioned in Paris in 1780 from the architect Jacques-Jacot Guerne for 1,200 livres; he apparently never visited Russia.
        • Construction began in 1784; in 2003 restorers found a copper foundation plaque with this date.
        • In 1810 Prince Nikolai Yusupov bought the unfinished estate for 245,000 rubles.
        • In 1812 the palace was plundered by the French, and in January 1820 a fire destroyed most of the collections.
        • For its terraced park Arkhangelskoye was nicknamed the "Versailles of the Moscow region"; Pushkin, Karamzin and five emperors visited.
        • The palace holds two large Tiepolo paintings about Cleopatra and twelve canvases by Hubert Robert.
        • The largest hall is the double-height Oval Hall on the main axis of the ensemble.

        • Kapriz was built under the Golitsyns in the late 18th century and rebuilt in 1817–1818 to a design by Yevgraf Tyurin.
        • The pavilion stretches 53 meters but is only 9 wide.
        • In the early 19th century the whole complex of park pavilions was called Kapriz.
        • The Tea House is the former Library: the remains of Dmitry Golitsyn's books, confiscated in 1737, were probably kept there.
        • The rotunda pavilion became the Tea House after the fire of 1820; since 1936 Antokolsky's "Angel of Prayer" has stood in it.

        • The theater opened on 8 June 1818 in the presence of Alexander I and the Prussian king Frederick William III.
        • Pietro Gonzaga himself never came to Arkhangelskoye: he painted the twelve scene changes in a workshop at the Hermitage Theater.
        • The hall seats only 250; Yusupov's troupe featured serf ballerinas, singers and musicians.
        • The original 6 × 8 m curtain and four scene changes survive, the only authentic Gonzaga originals.
        • In 1969 a "performance of scenery" was staged here: four Gonzaga sets were shown to the music of Rossini.
        • The building is wooden, but plastered and painted golden; the staircase on the south facade was added in 1828.
