        • The first 7 km of track from Rzhevka toward the centre were called the "Rzhevsky Corridor": cargo from the Road of Life went along it.
        • In 1985 steles named "Our Daily Bread" were placed along the corridor to the design of the architect Vladimir Lukyanov.
        • The Road of Life kilometre posts from Rzhevka to the Osinovets lighthouse were declared historical monuments in 1974.

        • The Main Artillery Range was founded in 1854 on Volkovo Field and began operating on Okhta Field near Rzhevka in 1879.
        • At the turn of the 19th–20th centuries a complex of the Main Artillery and Naval Ranges was built on Kovalevskaya Street; the assembly building is No. 16.
        • The range covers 740 km²: guns, armour, rocket artillery and rocket engines were tested on it.
        • In 1928–1933 the Gas Dynamics Laboratory worked at the range — one of the cradles of Soviet rocketry.
        • The street was named in the early 1910s after the State Council member M. E. Kovalevsky, trustee of the neighbouring colony for juvenile offenders.
