        • The granite bas-relief was made by the sculptor M. L. Krupp and the architect A. Ya. Svirsky.
        • From late 1941 the city's water supply did not work, and on the outskirts water was drawn from surviving wells — one of them was here.
        • The inscription on the bas-relief reads: "Here in the harsh years of the Siege there was a well — a source of life."
        • Beneath the bas-relief stands a granite pedestal with a symbolic bowl.
        • The monument's first restoration was only in summer 2020, 41 years after its opening.

        • The cemetery is named after the Church of St John the Theologian; it was founded on its present site in 1841.
        • The wooden church of 1915–1916 was demolished in 1938; a new wooden Church of St John the Theologian was consecrated in October 2000.
        • Viktor Tsoi was buried here on 19 August 1990 — about 30 thousand people came to say goodbye, although the band had asked people not to come.
        • In 2014 a stele with a mosaic portrait, from a sketch by his widow, was placed on the grave of Mikhail Gorshenyov of "Korol i Shut".
        • The conductor Yevgeny Mravinsky, who led the Leningrad Philharmonic orchestra for fifty years, is also buried here; the gravestone is by the sculptor L. K. Lazarev.

        • The park covers 116 hectares, more than 80% of it forest, mostly pine and birch.
        • The forest was declared a suburban park in 1938, but the war interrupted its development.
        • During the Siege, the fuel and weapons depots of the Grazhdanka airfield were hidden in the forest — traces of trenches and revetments are still visible.
        • Ornithologists have counted more than 50 bird species in the park, including five species of woodpecker and the goshawk.
        • In 1975–1977 the USSR's first specialised football school, Smena, was built on the edge of the park.

        • The pedestal rises upward, depicting a runway leading into the sky.
        • It opened on 15 October 1976; the authors are the sculptors O. N. Kharlamov and O. F. Lych and the architect A. V. Kozhevnikov.
        • During the 2009 restoration the star was repainted from silver to gold.
        • Nauki Avenue runs right along the main runway of the Grazhdanka airfield.
