        • The stone aqueduct was built in 1816–1821 to a design by Pierre-Dominique Bazaine; it was called the Yamskoy Aqueduct Bridge.
        • In 1891 the channel was filled in when the Ligovsky Canal was put into a pipe, and the granite basins on the banks became little gardens.
        • The old bridge's railings had an ornament that the architect Mikhail Bunin called Uzbek.
        • The present reinforced-concrete bridge with a 38 m span was built in 1967–1970 and opened on 7 November 1970.

        • The tradition goes back to 1802, when Radishchev was buried here; his grave has not survived, and there is a cenotaph.
        • Next to Belinsky (1848) the critics Dobrolyubov (1861) and Pisarev (1868) were laid to rest — and so the section became "literary".
        • Leskov, Kuprin, Miklukho-Maklai, Bekhterev and the radio inventor Alexander Popov are also buried here.
        • In 1935 the necropolis became a museum; the remains of Blok, Goncharov and Pomyalovsky were moved here.
        • Lenin's mother Maria Ulyanova and his sisters Anna and Olga are buried at Mostki.
        • The necropolis has about 500 gravestones.

        • The dome's frame is assembled from 1,500 wooden beams and 507 steel “Haeckels” — joints named after the naturalist Ernst Haeckel.
        • The dome is 2 metres wider than that of the planetarium in Nagoya, Japan, the previous Guinness record holder.

        • It is the city's largest abandoned industrial zone — 34 hectares; in 2023, 50 buildings and 11 galleries were declared monuments.

        • The first gate was built in a month in 1814 of wood and alabaster to a design by Quarenghi, to welcome the troops returning from Europe.
        • Stasov's stone gate was founded on 26 August 1827, the anniversary of Borodino, and opened on 17 August 1834.
        • The brick frame is clad in copper sheets; the six horses were modelled by Pyotr Klodt — his first serious work.
        • The gate is over 30 m high and 28 m wide.
        • In 1877–1880 the copper was replaced with iron, and the corrosion only got worse.
        • On 28 February 1917 the gate was set on fire — the city duma archive stored inside burned.
        • In the war the gate received more than two thousand holes and was fully restored in 1949–1951.
