        • The hill is a moraine mound piled up by the edge of the last glacier.
        • In clear weather you can see 30–40 km from the top, including Petersburg's southern districts.
        • In September 1941 the Germans took the hill and turned it into a stronghold for shelling the city.
        • In the 18th century Voronya and Orekhovaya hills were not distinguished and were called a single Dudorova Hill.
        • The slopes preserve relict hazel thickets and pines 100–150 years old.

        • The hill's exact height is 175.9 m above sea level.
        • Together with Voronya Gora and Kirchhof hill, it forms the Dudergof Heights — a natural monument.
        • The northern slope of Orekhovaya Gora is steeper than 35° in places — almost like real mountains.
        • On the Dudergof Heights snow falls earlier and lies longer than on the surrounding plain.
        • In some atlases the names of Orekhovaya and Voronya hills are mixed up.

        • The battery had nine 130-mm guns taken from the cruiser Aurora.
        • These guns were only fitted to the cruiser in 1923 — they took no part in the 1917 revolution.
        • The battery's original complement was 152 sailors and 12 officers.
        • The main battle came on 11 September 1941: most of the sailors and guns were lost then.
        • The memorial to the artillery sailors was unveiled in 1974.

        • Fundraising for the hospital began in 1899, despite protests from summer residents about having such a neighbour.
        • The hospital was laid down on 19 July 1900 and consecrated on 2 August 1902.
        • All the façades are different, and at the junction of the volumes stands a round stair tower with "loophole" windows.
        • The walls are faced with light-yellow brick, and the plinth is built of split red-grey stone.
        • Higher up the slope stood the Church of St Olga (1879–1883), which has not survived.
        • Since 1979 the building has housed the ski base of a youth sports school.
