        🌳 Murinsky Park
пойма Муринского ручья, у пр. Луначарского
A long park along the Murinsky stream with ponds, cycle paths and sculptures; the stream splits Grazhdanka in two.
From Akademicheskaya metro, 20 minutes on foot along Grazhdansky and Svetlanovsky prospekts. Go down to the water: locals call the area beyond the stream “GDR” — “Grazhdanka Dalshe Ruchya” (Grazhdanka Beyond the Stream)

        • The decision to create the park was made back in the 1980s, but work to reclaim the floodplain began only in the early 2000s.
        • On 1 August 2009 the first cycle path in Petersburg opened in Murinsky Park.
        • In 2018 the floodplain east of Grazhdansky Avenue was added to the park, which grew to about 150 hectares.
        • The sculpture garden in the park was begun in 1985 by the sculptor Alexander Chernitsky; four of his granite works survive, including "The Ogre".
        • In 2001 wooden animals resembling Slavic idols were added to the granite — they were carved by students of the Roerich school.

        • The church was laid down on 5 March 2000 and built with donations from townspeople.
        • It is built in the Neo-Byzantine style and its plan is a tetraconch — a square with four semicircles.
        • The church is 37 m tall; the authors are the architects Georgy Vasiliev and Gennady Chelbogashev.
        • The vaults are made of metal with wooden cladding so they could be painted from inside; the murals are by the artist Olga Sheremetyeva.
        • The first service was held at Christmas 2009, and Metropolitan Varsonofy consecrated the church on 13 November 2016.
