        • The church, designed by Alexander Baranovsky, was laid down on 25 July 1906 and was already built by the end of October.
        • It was consecrated on 1 March 1907 in the name of Seraphim of Sarov, after whom the cemetery is also named.
        • When news came that the Siege was lifted, the church bells rang for two days.
        • The main shrine is an icon of Seraphim with particles of his relics and of the stone on which he prayed for a thousand days and nights.
        • The interior has hardly changed since the opening; the mosaics on the west facade appeared in 1987.

        • Captain Lev Matsievich crashed on 24 September (7 October) 1910 — the first victim of an air crash in the Russian Empire.
        • It happened at the "All-Russian Aeronautics Festival", Russia's first air show; three days earlier Matsievich had taken Stolypin up for a flight.
        • Matsievich's death pushed Gleb Kotelnikov to invent the backpack parachute.
        • The memorial at the crash site was designed by the architect Ivan Fomin; the square has borne the pilot's name since 1982.
        • Matsievich's last flight was described by Alexander Blok in the poem "The Aviator".

        • Pushkin's duel with d'Anthès took place on 27 January (8 February) 1837 near the Komendantskaya Dacha.
        • The Pushkins themselves rented a dacha in this area in the summers of 1833 and 1835.
        • The exact spot is disputed: second Danzas pointed it out in 1858, but contemporaries thought he had the wrong side of the road.
        • In the 1930s a broken column stood here, and for the centenary of his death in 1937 it was replaced by an obelisk by Lapirov and Katonin.
        • The bronze bas-relief of the poet on the obelisk was made by the sculptor Matvei Manizer.

        • The money was raised by Kolomyagi residents and dacha-dwellers, and the plot was donated by Count A. F. Orlov-Denisov.
        • The church was consecrated on 3 December 1906.
        • It was not closed even during the Siege, although houses around it were being torn down for firewood.
        • Archpriest Ioann Goremykin, who served here in 1940–1950, is buried by the altar.

        • In Finnish the lake was called Pitkäjärvi — "long lake"; the Russian translation has been in use since the 18th century.
        • When a residential district was built around it in the 1980s, the lake became much shallower and shrank.
        • The lake was cleared in 2012–2013, and from late 2014 the shore was landscaped: paths, lamps, a playground.
        • The historic district, Dolgoozyornaya Street and the municipal district are all named after the lake.
