        • The center was founded in 2004 and named after the composer and creator of the “Pop-Mechanics” Sergey Kuryokhin.
        • It stands on the site of the 1968 Priboy cinema; the old building was dismantled from 2016 to 2022.
        • The new building, designed by Alexander Petrov, opened in September 2025 and echoes Priboy's concave glass facade.
        • The 1960s-style interiors with a mosaic floor were designed by Kuryokhin's grandson, the architect Nikita Sidorov.
        • Inside are a transformable concert hall for up to 1,000, a small hall for 160, a café and outdoor balconies.
        • The Sergey Kuryokhin Prize in contemporary art is awarded here, and the Videoforma video art festival is held.

        • The museum officially opened on 30 September 2010, having welcomed its first visitors back on 20 May.
        • The name stands for “era of art” — “Era” plus “Art”.
        • The building dates from 1951 in the Stalinist neoclassical style; in Soviet times it housed a district party committee, then a synthetic rubber institute.
        • The entrance is guarded by the sculptures of Era and Art by Dmitry Zhukov, made on the museum's commission.

        🏛 Brusnitsyn Mansion
        Кожевенная линия, 27
The abandoned palace of the Brusnitsyn leather manufacturers with an eclectic facade of 1884 — a reminder that Kozhevennaya Liniya (Tanners' Line) was the factory street of the Harbour district.
The mansion is abandoned and there's no entry — we look at the 1884 facade from Kozhevennaya Line and the brick factory buildings around it.

        • In 1844 the Tver peasant Nikolai Brusnitsyn bought the house and three years later opened a tannery for 10 people here.
        • The workshop grew into a factory of 600 workers, and Brusnitsyn himself became a merchant.
        • The mansion got its present look in 1884, when the founder's sons commissioned the architect Anatoly Kovsharov to rebuild it.
        • After 1917 it housed the management of the Radishchev tannery.
        • Inside, the ceremonial dining room survives, with a wood-look coffered ceiling and an authentic bronze chandelier.

        📖 More about the placeCollapse

        • The space took over part of the Sevkabel factory — Russia's oldest cable factory, founded by Siemens & Halske.
        • It was Siemens & Halske that first linked Petersburg and Moscow by telegraph and lit Nevsky Prospekt with electricity.
        • In 1918 the factory was nationalised and given its present name, “Sevkabel”.
        • The renovation was devised by the KHVOYA bureau: all the factory buildings were kept, and reel-shaped benches were placed along the alley.
        • The first event took place in June 2017, and Sevkabel Port officially opened in September 2018.
        • In 2020 the neighbouring Vera Slutskaya factory was added to the space — it was named “Iskabel”.
