        • Moscow Victory Park was laid out on the site of the quarries of Brick and Pumice Plant No. 1, opened in 1931.
        • The pre-war park design was made in 1939–1940 by the architect Tatyana Dubyago.
        • During the Siege the brickworks' kilns were used to cremate the dead — the Alley of Memory recalls this.

        🌳 Moscow Victory Park
A big park with ponds, islands and avenues, laid out in 1945 in honour of Victory.
Walk along the ponds toward Moskovsky Prospekt: there are lots of ducks, they don't need bread — oatmeal is better. Boats run until the cold; in October rentals are usually closed.

        • The park was first begun in 1939–1941 as a park of culture and rest, designed by Tatyana Dubyago.
        • During the siege the bodies of the dead were burned at a brick factory on the park's site — by some accounts up to 110,000 Leningraders.
        • The Admiralty Pond is a former factory pit into which the ashes of those cremated during the siege were dumped.
        • Victory Park was founded on 7 October 1945 and opened on 7 July 1946.
        • The “Glasses” pond is marked on pre-revolutionary maps — one of the park's oldest elements.
        • The propylaea of the main entrance appeared in 1957.

A playground in Victory Park with swings, slides and exercise equipment under the trees.
A playground by the exit to Chernyshevsky Square: a good way to end the walk before lunch. The Vodokanal restrooms are in the park, closer to Moskovsky Prospekt.
        📖 More about the placeCollapse
        • Victory Park was laid down on 7 October 1945 on the Syzran field, a former frontline strip; thousands of Leningraders planted the trees at volunteer workdays.
        • At the crossing of the Alley of Heroes with the central alley a monument to Stalin first stood; now there is a monument to Zhukov in its place.
        • The fountains "Wreath of Glory" and "Boy with a Fish" in the park are monuments of federal significance.
