🏛 Memorial Pillboxes at Victory Square
        Пулковское ш., 2, северная часть парка Городов-Героев
Concrete firing points of the “Izhora” line two steps from the monument on Victory Square: the defence line ran here in 1941.
From Moskovskaya past the monument on Pobedy Square to Pulkovskoe Highway. The pillboxes are in the northern part of the park, by the path from the square.

        • The pillboxes were part of the “Izhora” defensive line.
        • Machine-gun and artillery units of the 79th Fortified Region and the anti-tank artillery of the 42nd Army held the defence here.
        • They survive in the northern part of the park on the Victory Square side.
        • In 2024 the park regained the name “Heroic Cities” — partly because of these pillboxes.

🏛 Sergiev Island and the Church of St Sergius of Radonezh
        Среднерогатский пруд, парк Городов-Героев
A white church with green domes on an island in the middle of an old pond; a bridge leads to the island from the Church of St George.
Over the bridge from St George's Church — to Sergiev Island. Walk around the pond: from the south shore all three churches are visible together. It's 15 minutes along Zvezdnaya Street to Zvezdnaya.

        • The island is joined by a bridge to the Church of St George the Victorious, where the Chapel of the Royal Martyrs also stands.
        • Srednerogatsky Pond is a historic body of water that used to be called Kikerikeksen.
        • The surrounding park was laid out in 1980 and covers almost 40 hectares.
