🏛 Former Trinity Church in Ozerki
        Большая Озёрная ул., 27
A church of 1900–1904 by Poklonnaya Gora, consecrated under John of Kronstadt; since 1961 a Baptist prayer house.
From Ozerki, 7 minutes along Vyborgskoe Highway and Bolshaya Ozernaya. Compare the old bell tower with the hall added in the 1980s.

        • The Trinity church was built to relieve the parish of the Saviour-Pargolovo church in Shuvalovo.
        • John of Kronstadt took part in the consecration in 1904.
        • Because of the church, the southern part of Bolshaya Ozyornaya was for a time called Troitskaya Street.
        • The church was closed in 1938, given to the Baptist community in 1961, and a big hall was added in the 1980s.

        🌳 Middle Suzdal Lake
        Большая Озёрная ул.
The smallest and quietest of the three Suzdal lakes — a spring-fed lake between the Upper and the Lower.
15 minutes north along Bolshaya Ozernaya, past old dachas. Come out to the water at the Srednee Suzdalskoe Ozero stop: in October the shore is empty and quiet.

        • The Middle Lake is about 400 metres long and 250 wide.
        • The Suzdal lakes are fed by springs of the Ozerki-Pargolovo ridge.
        • The name comes from the Suzdal Sloboda, where the Shuvalovs resettled peasants from the Suzdal district.
        • In ancient times the three lakes were one glacial lake, Parkola — hence Pargolovo.

🏛 Monument to the Cats of Besieged Leningrad
        ул. Композиторов, 4 (во дворе)
A bronze cat on a chair by a floor lamp in a residential courtyard — a memorial to the cats of the besieged city.
Across Vyborgskoe Highway to Kompozitorov Street. The cat on a chair stands in the courtyard of No. 4 — the courtyards are open.
        📖 More about the placeCollapse
        • The monument was unveiled on 27 September 2016 at the request of residents of the surrounding buildings.
        • The chair stands on “parquet”: during the Siege, parquet and furniture were burned in stoves.
        • After the war, cats were brought to Leningrad by the trainload, including from Siberia, to fight the rats.
        • The author of the project is Natalya Ryseva.

↩️ Getting back: To Prospekt Prosveshcheniya — about 12 minutes along Kompozitorov Street.
