Friendship Park, Isfahan Park and Apple Garden

      ⏱ 1 h 15 min🚶 2.9 km🍽 0📍 3 stops
      🐢 A little — under 3 km

A new park with giant hemispheres, slides and iron animals, then a quiet Apple Garden with a pond — a walk with a child by Mezhdunarodnaya.

👶 With kids🌳 Parks and nature🏘 Off the centre⏱ An hour or so
      👶 3–6, 7–12 years · ✓ stroller-friendly

The paths in Friendship Park and along Turku Street are asphalt; the Apple Garden has slides — go around them on the lower path. The metro has an escalator; with a heavy stroller it's easier to reach Turku Street by surface transport.

🌳 Friendship Park on Turku Street
ул. Турку, между Бухарестской и Будапештской ул.
        🚪 entrance from Turku Street
A new district park by Mezhdunarodnaya with huge hemisphere-shaped benches, a tower shaped like a pickle with slides, and metal animals from every continent.
From the metro west along Turku Street. Find the elephant, panda and kangaroo, climb onto the hemisphere bench; the slides in the “cucumber” tower are for the older ones, and toddlers will be happy with the stumps with a slide.
        📖 More about the placeCollapse
        • The park was landscaped in 2024–2025 under a contract worth almost half a billion rubles.
        • The two hemispheres of the Earth are circular benches about 7 metres across.
        • The pickle-shaped tower with two metal slides and a big tree stump with a slide are the main children’s attractions.
        • Figures of an elephant, a bull, a bear, a panda, a kangaroo, monkeys and penguins are dotted around the park.
        • Posts along the paths bear the names of the continents.

        🌳 Isfahansky Square
ул. Турку, между Будапештской и Белградской ул.
        🚪 entrance from Budapeshtskaya Street
A green stretch of Turku Street named after the Iranian sister city — a path between Friendship Park and the Apple Orchard.
Across Budapeshtskaya — on along Turku Street. The path is even, and along the way there's a stone from the Liquidators' Alley.
        📖 More about the placeCollapse
        • The square was named in 2019 after Isfahan, Petersburg’s sister city.
        • Turku Street is named after the Finnish sister city.
        • A chain of squares runs along the street: an unnamed one with sculptures, Friendship Park, and Isfahansky.

        🌳 Apple Orchard (Yablonevy Sad)
между ул. Турку и Белградской ул.
A former state-farm orchard with apple, pear and plum trees, a pond and the Newlyweds’ Bridge — everything blooms here in spring.
The garden starts beyond Belgradskaya Street. Go as far as Grachevsky Pond and Newlyweds' Bridge; back to the metro is 15 minutes along Turku Street.

        • In the 1950s the orchard was part of the “Udarnik” state farm.
        • Since 1972 it has been run by the garden and park department.
        • The park stretches for 640 metres and covers about 15 hectares.
        • In 2005–2012 apple, pear and plum trees were planted, and the Grachevsky Pond was dug with the Newlyweds’ Bridge.
        • The hillocks along the paths were heaped up from the soil dug out for the pond.
