🌳 Ponds of the Dachnaya River
между ул. Лёни Голикова и ул. Танкиста Хрустицкого, к северу от пр. Ветеранов
A chain of landscaped ponds in the middle of the Dachnoye neighbourhood — all that remains of a river once called the Popovka.
From the metro to the north, into the courtyards between Tankista Khrustitskogo and Leni Golikova Streets. The ponds run in a chain — follow the water.

        • The river used to be called Popov Brook or Popovka, and in the 20th century it took its name from the Dachnoye area.
        • The 18th-century Ligovsky Canal cut across its bed.
        • In the 1960s, during mass construction, the lower channel north of Leninsky Prospekt was filled in.
        • What is left of the river is a string of elongated ponds joined by channels.

        • The northern half is a regional-level cultural heritage site, with three historic ponds.
        • A metal footbridge across the pond was built in 1995.
        • The square was named after Vorontsov on 1 March 2013.

🏛 Church of Faith, Hope and Love in the Vorontsov Estate
        пр. Стачек, 186
A modest 18th-century house on the Peterhof Road: the Vorontsov estate by Vallin de la Mothe, home to a church since 1991.
Come out onto Prospekt Stachek, No. 186. The low house is the work of Vallin de la Mothe; inside — when open. It's 15 minutes to Yugo-Zapadnaya.

        • R. I. Vorontsov’s estate was built in 1756 to a design by J.-B. Vallin de la Mothe.
        • In 1991 a church community took over the building — hence the Church of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia.
        • The house stands on the old Peterhof Road, where the nobility’s country estates lined the way in the 18th century.
        • Its neighbour on the same side of the avenue is the Church of Metropolitan Peter (1992–2000), built in memory of Ulyanka’s old church.
