        • Etazhi opened in 2007 and became Petersburg's first loft exhibition centre.
        • The project was dreamed up by Maria Romashova.
        • The interiors were reworked by the brothers Savely and Yegor Arkhipenko, who kept the baking equipment, the flour chutes, the boiler pipes and the bread factory's cast-iron floor.
        • The first exhibition was by Andrew Logan and Irena Kuksenaite in the Globus gallery on the fifth floor.

        📖 More about the placeCollapse
        • The centre's story began in 1989, when underground artists and musicians moved into a house emptied for renovation.
        • In 1998 Russia's first Museum of Nonconformist Art opened here.
        • In the courtyard, a “vertical” John Lennon Street runs up the wall of the building.
        • The centre also houses the National Museum of Rock Music and Kolya Vasin's Beatles museum.
        • The centre's birthday is marked on the last Saturday of June with the “House Festival”.
        • In 2009 Aquarium released the album “Pushkinskaya, 10”.

        • The planetarium opened on 3 November 2017 in a gasholder of the Main Gas Works of the Capital Lighting Society.
        • The empty building was spotted by chance in 2015 by the entrepreneur Yevgeny Gudov while walking along the Obvodny Canal.
        • The gasholder itself is a brick cylinder 20 m high and 42 m across, a federal monument since 2001.
        • The dome's frame is assembled from 1,500 wooden beams and 507 steel “Haeckels” — joints named after the naturalist Ernst Haeckel.
        • The dome is 2 metres wider than that of the planetarium in Nagoya, Japan, the previous Guinness record holder.
        • The image on the dome is produced by 40 projectors with 8K resolution.

        • The island appeared in 1719, when the Kryukov and Admiralty canals were dug for shipbuilders; its area is 7.8 ha.
        • The name comes from the warehouses of ship timber, which was dried the Dutch way — standing upright.
        • Vallin de la Mothe's arch over the canal to the inner basin was built in 1779–1787; it is 23 metres high.
        • The round naval prison building from the 1820s was nicknamed the “bottle” — it is said to be the origin of the Russian idiom for flying off the handle.
        • In the 1894 experimental basin, the shipbuilder Alexey Krylov carried out experiments on ship unsinkability.
        • During the First World War the most powerful radio station in Russia, belonging to the naval staff, worked here.
        • Until December 2004 the island was occupied by Baltic Fleet services, and it was closed to the public.

        • The space took over part of the Sevkabel factory — Russia's oldest cable factory, founded by Siemens & Halske.
        • It was Siemens & Halske that first linked Petersburg and Moscow by telegraph and lit Nevsky Prospekt with electricity.
        • In 1918 the factory was nationalised and given its present name, “Sevkabel”.
        • The renovation was devised by the KHVOYA bureau: all the factory buildings were kept, and reel-shaped benches were placed along the alley.
        • The first event took place in June 2017, and Sevkabel Port officially opened in September 2018.
        • In 2020 the neighbouring Vera Slutskaya factory was added to the space — it was named “Iskabel”.
