      Bukharestskaya and Mezhdunarodnaya metro have no lifts — get to Rio by taxi or bus. In Rio everything is on the ground floor; in Kontinent take the mall's lift to the 3rd floor.

        An indoor zoo on the mall's ground floor: more than 400 animals — meerkats, capybaras, parrots, hedgehogs — plus a petting area; open daily 10:00–22:00.
        The exotic zoo is on the ground floor, with no steps: you can bring a stroller. Almost empty and calm on weekday mornings — toddlers won't be scared by the noise.

        Porridge and blini are what a baby will surely eat; ask for a high chair at the cashier. It's easier to bring your own purée warm in a thermos.
        🍴 A Teremok pancake café by the Rio food court, open 10:00–22:00 — quick and predictable for lunch with a little one. What to order: oatmeal or buckwheat porridge and a sweet blin with sour cream for the toddler; borscht and a ham-and-cheese blin for the adults.

        An indoor play centre on the third floor of the Kontinent mall: a two-storey maze, trampolines and soft play areas; open daily 10:00–22:00, 750 ₽ on weekdays, 1,290 ₽ at weekends.
        For toddlers — soft modules on the maze's first level; weekend afternoons are noisy, so come on weekdays.

        Kiselyok is in the same Kontinent, and Umpa-Lumpa operates on its premises: the play area is visible from the dining hall, for kids up to 12, with free daily animation shows (schedule on the website); take the lift to the 3rd floor with a stroller.
        🍴 A family "restopark" for children up to 8: a play area with a maze, trampolines and a ball pit is visible from the dining room, with free daily animation shows. Entry to the restopark is paid — check the rate with the venue. What to order: pizza, borscht or pelmeni; nuggets and cheese patties for the kids.

        🌳 Playground in Internationalists Park

        A playground by Volkovsky Pond, a couple of steps from the Bukharestskaya Street entrance.
        If the rain has ended: a playground by the pond, with flat paths around — a good place to put your child down for a stroller nap. The public toilet at the entrance works only May to September.

        • The park is named after the Soviet soldiers who served in the Afghan war of 1979–1989.
        • This used to be the village of Romanovo, later Ryleyevo; fruit trees from the old village gardens still grow in the park.
        • The Church of St George the Victorious by Bukharestskaya Street was built between 1997 and 2003.
        • The monument to the soldiers-internationalists was erected in the park in 1998; the sculptor was N. Gordiyevsky.
