Rain on Primorsky: butterflies and slides

      ⏱ 3 h🚶 700 m🍽 1📍 4 stops
      🐢 A little — under 3 km

An indoor day by the bay for toddlers: a warm hall with butterflies, the soft mazes of Joki Joya, lunch at Piterland, and if the rain stops — the playgrounds of the 300th Anniversary Park.

      👶 under 3, 3–6 years · ✓ stroller-friendly

To Piterland it is easier to go by taxi or by bus along Primorsky Prospekt: Begovaya has a lift, but it is another 15 minutes on foot from there to the mall. Inside, there are lifts between floors.

        ✨ Butterfly Park at Piterland
        Приморский пр., 72, ТРК «Питерлэнд», 3 этаж
        🎟 ticket
A warm tropical hall with live butterflies and chrysalises on the third floor of Piterland; open daily 10:00–21:00.
Start at opening, 10:00 — the butterflies are more active and there are few people. The hall is hot and humid: take the baby's snowsuit off beforehand, and ask where to leave the stroller at the entrance.

        ✨ Joki Joya at Piterland
        Приморский пр., 72, ТРК «Питерлэнд», 3 этаж
        🎟 ticket
An indoor family park of the Joki Joya chain with mazes, slides and ball pits, with a family restaurant with a children's menu inside; daily 10:00–22:00, adults accompanying children enter free.
For crawlers and those who have just started walking, stick to the ball pits and low slides — the big mazes are for older kids. Bring socks for both yourself and your child — people go barefoot in such parks.

The same Piterland, 4th floor. The kids' room is for ages 4+ and only on Fri from 17:00 and Sat–Sun 12:00–22:00; children under 4 are not admitted — for them the play area stays at Joki Joya, one floor below. On weekday afternoons the gastro market is better.
🍴 A big restaurant with a panorama of the bay and a kids' room for children aged 4 and up (toys, colouring books, TV): open on Friday evenings and at weekends from 12:00, with an entertainer on Saturday evenings. What to order: nuggets with potatoes from the kids' menu for the children; carbonara pizza and garlic croutons for the adults.

🌳 Park of the 300th Anniversary of St Petersburg
        Приморский пр., 74
A young park on the Gulf of Finland shore with paths, a beach, a lighthouse column and a view of Lakhta Center.
If it's dry — 10 minutes along flat paths to the bay, your child will fall asleep in the stroller to the sound of the water. The park's public toilet is open only May to September and is paid (20 ₽) — with no changing table, so change the baby in the mall.

        • The park was laid out in 1995 for the city's 300th anniversary.
        • Of the original 89 ha the park has 38.58 ha left — the rest was given over to development.
        • The granite lighthouse column in the centre of the park rises 22 metres.
        • Helsinki gave the park 300 ornamental apple trees, and in 2003 a Finnish “Friendship Stone” with a metal ball inside was installed here.
        • In 2017 the Republic of Korea gave five “Dol hareubang” statues of volcanic lava — symbols of happiness from Jeju Island.
        • In 2023 three 175-metre flagpoles were erected nearby — the tallest in Europe at the time of their opening.
