The Neva Promenade and the Parrots of Okhta Mall

      ⏱ 1 h🚶 1.5 km🍽 0📍 3 stops
      🐢 A little — under 3 km

A wide, flat promenade along the Neva for a daytime nap, a playground on the shore and an indoor zoo where parrots land on your hands and shoulders.

👶 With kids🌳 Parks and nature🏘 Off the centre⏱ An hour or so
      👶 under 3, 3–6 years · ✓ stroller-friendly

Novocherkasskaya metro has no lift — go to the park by taxi or by bus along Novocherkassky Prospekt. From the park to Okhta Mall it's about 15 minutes on the sidewalk; if it rains, take a taxi.

        🌳 Malookhtinsky Park
Малоохтинский пр., у Невы (вход от Новочеркасского пр.)
A park on the Neva bank with contemporary sculptures from the 2011 symposium — no signs, so you have to work out each one yourself.
The promenade along the Neva is flat and wide — the best place for a daytime stroller nap: the sound of water, a river breeze and few people on weekdays. If it's windy, put a hood on the baby.

        • The park opened in 1960 and covers 8.26 hectares.
        • The 2007–2008 reconstruction planted 554 trees and more than two thousand shrubs.
        • The sculpture exhibition opened on 13 October 2011 after the second Urban Sculpture Symposium.
        • Novocherkassky Avenue splits the park in two; one half holds the Siege Church.

        🌳 Playground in Malookhtinsky Park
Малоохтинский парк, восточная часть (ближе к Новочеркасскому пр.)
A playground in the eastern part of the park on the Neva embankment — riverside walking paths are right next to it.
After the nap — to the playground. There's no public restroom in the park on the maps, so it's easier to change the baby later, at the mall.
