Okhta: the Neva, a playground and parrots

      ⏱ 3 h🚶 1.5 km🍽 1📍 4 stops
      🐢 A little — under 3 km

A leisurely walk along the Neva in Malookhtinsky Park, a playground, and then into the warmth: parrots you can hand-feed, and lunch at a restaurant with a kids' room.

👶 With kids🌳 Parks and nature🏘 Off the centre
      👶 under 3, 3–6 years · ✓ stroller-friendly

Novocherkasskaya metro has no lift — get to the park by taxi or by bus along Novocherkassky Prospekt. From the park to Okhta Mall is about 15 minutes along the pavement; in rain, take a taxi.

        🌳 Malookhtinsky Park
Малоохтинский пр., у Невы (вход от Новочеркасского пр.)
A park on the Neva bank with contemporary sculptures from the 2011 symposium — no signs, so you have to work out each one yourself.
The avenue along the Neva is flat and wide — the best place for a daytime stroller nap: the sound of water, a breeze off the river, few people on weekdays. In wind, put a hood on the baby.

        • The park opened in 1960 and covers 8.26 hectares.
        • The 2007–2008 reconstruction planted 554 trees and more than two thousand shrubs.
        • The sculpture exhibition opened on 13 October 2011 after the second Urban Sculpture Symposium.
        • Novocherkassky Avenue splits the park in two; one half holds the Siege Church.

        🌳 Playground in Malookhtinsky Park
Малоохтинский парк, восточная часть (ближе к Новочеркасскому пр.)
A playground in the eastern part of the park on the Neva embankment — riverside walking paths are right next to it.
After the nap — to the playground. There is no public toilet in the park on the maps — it is easier to change your child in the mall.
