      🚶 Zodchego Rossi Street

      Санкт-Петербург, ул. Зодчего Росси

A street of perfect proportions: its width equals the height of the buildings (22 m), and its length is ten times that (220 m).

      • Carlo Rossi built the street's ensemble in 1828–1834, and it received its present name in 1923.
      • The street is home to the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet.
      • In the 1920s–30s tram conductors announced the stop as "Zoshchenko—Rossi Street".
      • According to a city tale, an old woman asked a taxi driver to take her to "Hare Grove" street — and he brought her here.
      • In 1890–1891 a scenery warehouse for the imperial theatres' ballet company was built in the courtyard of no. 2.
