      🏛 Gabdulla Tukay Monument

сквер Тукая, Зверинская ул. у Кронверкского пр.

A monument to the Tatar poet in a little park on the Petrograd Side, where the Tatar Sloboda stood under Peter.

      • The monument was unveiled in 2006 — for the poet's 120th anniversary.
      • The sculptor is A. Ziyakaev, together with Ya. Neiman.
      • Tukay is often called the “Tatar Pushkin”.
      • The place was chosen deliberately: under Peter I the Tatar Sloboda was here.
