      • The Swedish community split from the Finnish one in 1745; the stone church of St Catherine was built here in 1767.
      • Parishioners included the Nobel and Lidval families and the jeweller Carl Fabergé.
      • Carl Mannerheim, the future president of Finland, was married in this church.
      • The parish was closed in 1934; the last occupant of the building was a children's sports school.
      • The parish resumed in 1993, and services are held in Russian and Swedish.
