      🌳 Rzhevsky Forest Park

вход с северо-запада, от Ковалёвской ул.

A big forest right in the city: pines, small bogs and paths far from the avenues.

      • The 1,726-hectare forest park is the teaching forest of the Forestry University; it received "teaching forest" status on 22 March 1902.
      • Russia's first forest management plan was carried out here under an 1833 plan, when the tract covered 5,747 hectares.
      • The ring road crosses the forest for 5.5 km of its route, and the Lapka (Zhernovka) river and the Karaulov stream flow from east to west.
      • The forest park is divided into two teaching forestries — the northern Zhernovskoye and the southern Kudrovskoye.
