      • The park is named after the internationalist soldiers — participants in the Afghan war of 1979–1989.
      • There used to be the village of Romanovo here, later Ryleyevo: the houses were demolished, but some of the fruit trees survived.
      • Landscaping went on from the early 1980s, and the park was finally handed over in 1986.
      • The monument to the internationalist soldiers (sculptor N. Gordiyevsky) was installed in 1998.
      • The amphitheatre opened in September 2011, and the monument to special-forces fighters on 24 October 2012.
      • In 2018 residents collected more than 10,000 signatures against building a shopping centre on part of the park.
