      • The factory was founded in 1744 at the will of Elizabeth Petrovna — Russia's first porcelain production.
      • The recipe for Russian porcelain was found by Dmitry Vinogradov, Lomonosov's schoolmate at the Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy.
      • The factory's first goods for sale were snuffboxes: in 1751 one was presented to the empress.
      • In 1837 a sample room was set up at the factory, and by 1845 it had become a museum.
      • In 1925 the factory was named after Lomonosov — hence the well-known abbreviation LFZ.
      • Bone china has been made here since 1968.
