      🏛 Durnovo Dacha

      • The villa was built by P. V. Bakunin in the 1780s, probably to a design by N. A. Lvov; D. N. Durnovo bought it in 1813.
      • In June 1917 the dacha became the anarchists' headquarters — an attempt to evict them caused strikes on the Vyborg Side.
      • On 19 June (2 July) 1917 the dacha was stormed by Cossacks and infantry with an armoured car; the anarchist Asnin was killed and 59 people arrested.
      • In Soviet times it housed the club and museum of the Leningrad Metal Works.
      • After a fire in 1998 the building lost its pediment and second floor; in 2015 it was dismantled and by 2016 recreated in reinforced concrete.
