      🏛 Dovlatov Monument

      ул. Рубинштейна, 23

A bronze Dovlatov by the house on Rubinshteina Street where he lived for thirty years — one of the most photographed monuments on the street.

      • The monument was unveiled on 4 September 2016, for the writer's 75th anniversary; the author is Vyacheslav Bukhaev.
      • Dovlatov lived in this house from 1944 to 1975.
      • The writer is shown coming out of the door of his house.
      • The sculptor thought of giving Dovlatov a cigarette but dropped the idea because of vandals.
      • The writer's widow Elena and daughter Ekaterina came from New York for the unveiling.
