      🏛 Cossack Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Cross

      The cathedral of the former Yamskaya Sloboda at the crossing of Ligovsky and the Obvodny Canal — one of the city's oldest parishes.

      • Coachmen living along the Novgorod road — today's Ligovsky — put up a wooden chapel here in 1710–1712.
      • The stone church was built in 1748 in the Baroque style and rebuilt in the mid-19th century.
      • Until 1938 it was called the Exaltation of the Cross Yamskaya Church.
      • The main altar is consecrated in honour of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
