      🏛 Church of Alexander Nevsky at the Krasnoye Sormovo plant

      The first church of factory Sormovo, next to the plant's office; in Soviet times it housed the plant canteen.

      • The church was built in the 1880s to a design by Pavel Malinovsky, for the workers of the Sormovo plants.
      • Under the Soviets the church housed the canteen of the Krasnoye Sormovo plant.
      • The 43 m bell tower did not survive and was rebuilt only in the late 2010s.
      • The plant was founded in 1849 by Dmitry Benardaki, and as early as 1850 the steamship Lastochka was launched here.
